Eyelid Surgery & Forehead Lift
Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
The eyes are often the first part of the face to show significant signs of aging, such as sagging or drooping lids, bagginess, or puffiness. Bleharoplasty, also known as Eyelid surgery, can address these signs of aging by trimming sagging skin and removing or repositioning fat deposits. Most patients return to work within a week to 10 days. Scarring is minimal and typically fades within a few months of the surgery.
Blepharoplasty will not typically correct dark circles. Dermal fillers such as Restylane® are often used in conjunction with blepharoplasty to fill in deep creases or grooves known as tear trough deformities. Interestingly, using a filler will often decrease the shadowing caused by such grooves thereby decreasing the appearance of dark circles. Blepharoplasty can usually be performed under local anesthesia.
If you are troubled by drooping or deep furrows of the brow, a brow/forehead lift may be able to provide you with a younger and fresher appearance. Dr. McCormack works toward rejuvenating the brow without giving the appearance of a “surprised look”. The goal is to provide a natural result that makes you look less tired and more relaxed. In this procedure, skin and muscle are removed or adjusted to lift and smooth the brow. Incisions are hidden in the hairline for a more discreet effect. Forehead lifts are typically performed using an endoscopic or minimally invasive approach. Recovery is typically rapid, with most patients able to resume normal activities within a week to 10 days. This procedure is often performed in conjunction with a blepharoplasty of the upper eyelids.
