Rhinoplasty & Chin Augmentation

Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)

If you have concerns about the appearance of your nose and wish to change its size, shape, or angle, a rhinoplasty procedure may offer a fantastic solution for you. The rhinoplasty procedure is often sought by individuals who wish to improve the appearance or proportionality of their nose or to correct breathing problems.

It is amazing how a subtle change in the nose will dramatically alter one’s overall look. For example, a small nasal hump reduction will do wonders to feminize the face in some women. Dr. McCormack will individualize your procedure to target your problem area yet maintain the “character” in your nose and face. She specializes in helping individuals look their best through the most established techniques in plastic surgery.

Depending on the complexity of the procedure, rhinoplasty may be done under local or general anesthesia. Skin, bone, and cartilage are contoured from an incision within the nose to produce the desired result. Many patients experience swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes after rhinoplasty surgery, but are able to gradually resume normal activities in the first couple of weeks. Complete healing can take up to one year.

Chin Augmentation

If you suffer from a “weak chin” or want the size or shape of your chin to be more proportional to your other facial features, a chin implant can dramatically improve your appearance. A chin implant is often used in conjunction with rhinoplasty surgery to help balance the overall look. Interestingly, some people believe their nose is way too big when in reality, a balanced chin will make the nose appear much smaller. This surgical procedure adjusts the existing chin structure and permanently attaches a custom-crafted implant made of silicone or other biocompatible material. Patients often return to work after a week to 10 days, although swelling and bruising may last for several weeks.
