The dimples, depressions, and bumps along the skin that affect an estimated 85 percent of women over 20 may soon become a thing of the past. Cellulaze™ is the first one-time treatment for cellulite approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and has shown more promise in effectively reducing the appearance of cellulite than just about any other treatment available. Whereas many other cellulite treatments often require multiple treatment sessions, Cellulaze™ is designed to provide significant results after only one procedure. Also, the effects of Cellulaze™ can be very long-lasting, with some studies showing up to three years or more. Dr. Tiffany McCormack now offers Cellulaze™ for patients with cellulite affecting the thighs, abdomen, buttocks, and other areas. She can help you significantly reduce cellulite for a smoother appearance to the skin.

Causes of Cellulite

The reason cellulite is so very common in women and not in men is because of physiological differences in the way the body distributes fat. In women, pockets of fat can push connective tissues under the skin, resulting in the dimples and grooves that characterize cellulite. Common causes of this condition are:

  • The way your body distributes fat
  • Genetics
  • Skin thickness
  • Natural process of aging

For many years, there were very few effective options to reduce the appearance of cellulite… until the development of Cellulaze™.

The Cellulaze™ Procedure

Cellulaze™ is a minimally invasive procedure that can effectively reduce the appearance of cellulite in a single treatment. Dr. McCormack will create very small incisions (about the size of the tip of a ball-point pen) in the area targeted for treatment. Then, a fiber optic laser will be inserted, delivering laser energy that is able to release the fibrous bands that cause skin dimpling, level out the bumps, and help collagen to replenish the skin. Fat in the area is liquefied and pushed out. The result can be a smoother appearance to the skin and a significant reduction of cellulite.

Cellulaze™ treatment typically takes about one to one and-a-half hours to complete, and can be performed with a local anesthetic applied to the target areas.

Cellulaze™ Recovery

One of the best advantages of Cellulaze™ treatment is that there is usually no downtime necessary. In fact, many patients can resume normal daily activities right after the procedure. Some bruising will be present in the treated areas; however, this should fade over the next few days. The results of Cellulaze™ will be noticeable within about four weeks after treatment, and continued improvement can often be seen for the following three months to a year – even up to three years and beyond in some cases.

The rate of improvement in cellulite reduction will vary with each patient; however, many patients experience remarkable results that last a very long time.
